Name: Paola Janeth Rodriguez (she/her/ella)
Paola graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a B.A. degree in Psychology and a minor in Musicology. She is now attending Loma Linda University as a Clinical Psychology PsyD student with a specialization in child and adolescent psychology. Paola is interested in studying and providing care for children/adolescents from marginalized/minority communities, aiming to address their unique mental health needs and promote equitable access to psychological services. She is especially drawn to music therapy as a clinical tool for its potential to foster emotional expression, build social skills, and promote healing in children/adolescents, complementing more traditional clinical approaches. Overall, Paola cares deeply about advancing mental health equity and ensuring that underserved communities receive compassionate, culturally attuned care, in order to promote meaningful, transformative mental health journeys! During her free time, you will likely see Paola spending time with her loved ones (in particular, her nephew), playing an instrument, jamming out with her headphones in, or sewing.
